1. ANTI-SLIP SPRAY
And the simplest thing is to treat the tires with a special compound from a spray can. On a clean tire, you spray this product and after 3-4 minutes you boldly hit the road. We must pay tribute, the tool really works. Not spikes, of course, but according to the manufacturer, the grip of the tire on the icy surface is improved by 30%. Of course, you won't be able to go far, but one treatment should be enough for 25–30 km of path without sharp slipping and braking. 2. ANTI-SLIP BRACELETS
This device is a kind of symbiosis of snow chains and plastic clamps. At one time, someone came up with an ingenious idea to increase the plastic clamp to a size at which it could be put on the wheel and provided with plastic spikes. It turned out to be cheap and rather cheerful. The set, as a rule, includes twenty clamps, that is, ten per drive wheel. Of course, it will not work to cut the tires equipped with such bracelets on the ice - the plastic will obviously not be able to bite into the ice, but it will be quite possible to get to the clean asphalt through loose or slightly rolled snow.
3. SILICONE BRACELETS WITH SPIKES
Another device allows you to ride on ice - silicone bracelets with spikes. In fact, this is a variation on the same chains, but instead of metal chains, there is a durable silicone case with spikes implanted into it. The fastening can be arranged both according to the principle of bracelets, and traditionally, using a tension cable along the radius of the wheel. The latter is not very convenient, but it ensures a tighter fit of the entire structure to the wheel.
4. SLIP CHAINS
It must be said that this adaptation has been known to mankind for a long time. At the dawn of motorization, when the tires had no pattern and were bald like a knee, advanced motorists wrapped ropes around the wheels before overcoming difficult sections, thereby improving traction. Chains in the form we are used to, began to be used already during the First World War. And now this attribute is well known to both Jeepers and people living in places where snow on the roads is not a rarity, but a constant component.
5. REMOVABLE SPIKES
Yes, not so long ago such anti-skid devices appeared on the market. These studs, according to the manufacturer, can be screwed into any wheel with the appropriate head and screwdriver. In fact, such a thorn is a self-tapping screw, at the end of which, instead of a cap, there is a victorious tip. The idea, of course, is interesting, but there is a question, how convenient it is from the point of view of operation.
6. REPAIR SPIKES
But if you have a few studs in your winter tire after a long operation, then you can screw repair studs into the empty space. They differ from removable ones in the configuration of the platform, with which they are held in the tire: the screwed-in part has a blunt tip, which does not allow such spikes to pierce the tire through. They also come with a special head.
